It is a premium buy. Groundology costs more than the anonymous grounding sheets that flood online marketplaces. Silver needs looking after. Silver is the most conductive metal used in textiles, but it tarnishes: sulphur compounds, sweat and some detergents react with it and degrade conductivity over time. That means no bleach, no fabric softener (softener coats the fibres), and attention to the care label. The grounding studies most often cited, including a 2004 pilot on night-time cortisol with just 12 subjects, are small, and several foundational papers share authors connected to grounding product companies. The Cleveland Clinic describes the research as preliminary and limited, and grounding is not an NHS-recommended treatment for any condition.
